Adani Enterprise and Google to Build India’s Largest AI Data Hub

Adani Enterprises Ltd, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, has entered into a strategic partnership with Google to develop India’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. With a massive $15 billion investment planned over five years, the project aims to establish a gigawatt-scale AI hub, supported by clean energy and a robust subsea cable network. This project will transform India into a global hub for AI infrastructure and cloud computing.

Key highlights of the Project

• Google cloud CEO Thomas Kurian mention that the data centre will initially operate at 1 gigawatt (GW) capacity, with plans to scale up to multiple gigawatts
• The facility will become part of Google’s global network of AI hubs, spanning 12 countries, and will be the largest outside the United States.
• The  1 gigawatt hyperscale Google Data Centre is expected to generate approximately Rs 10,000 crore in revenue for Andhra Pradesh.
• Google’s investment on this project about $15 billion (USD) over five years (2026–2030) will create 5,000–6,000 direct jobs and 20,000–30,000 total jobs in the state.
• The upcoming Google AI Hub in Visakhapatnam will feature gigawatt-scale data centre capacity, supported by an extensive subsea cable network and renewable energy infrastructure to power advanced AI workloads across the country. Developed in collaboration with AdaniConneX and Airtel, the project will significantly boost India’s digital capability while reinforcing the commitment of both companies to sustainability and clean energy growth.
