Assamese cinema, also known as Jollywood, refers to the film industry in the Assamese language based in the Indian state of Assam. It has a rich history that spans several decades. Assamese films have won many national recognition. Let’s discuss some notable assamese movies and directors.

• Jyotiprasad Agarwala: He is perceived as the father of Assamese Cinema and his films such as Joymoti (1935), Indramalati (1939).
