Balika Samridhi Yojana

In 1997, the Balika Samriddhi Yojana was introduced by the Indian government to help provide education and support for girls from poor families.
Objectives:
- Supporting efforts to educate people and ensure good health: It includes financial help aimed at educating and caring for girl children.
- Preventing children from entering into marriage: This scheme aims to keep children from getting married.
- Encouraging equal rights for men and women: Through this, society achieves gender balance.
- Financial aid: If a person has a girl child, as per the scheme, an amount of Rs 500 is given to them and is immediately deposited in either a bank or a post office.
- Scholarship: Girls attending a SSP-accepting school are given a scholarship from class 1 through 10.
- Empowerment: Through this scheme, they aim to help the girls grow stronger and make a difference in society.
- Solid Foundation for the Coming Years: Planning helps prepare a girl for her future ahead.
- Eligibility: The advantage is given only to girls from families below the poverty line whose dates of birth are after 15 August 1997.
