India Wins 11 Medals at World Boxing Cup 2025

At the World Boxing Cup in Astana, Kazakhstan, Indian women’s boxers Sakshi, Jaismine, and Nupur all won gold medals in their respective weight categories. India finished the tournament with 11 medals, which is the most the country has ever won at this event, showing the strong ascent of the country in boxings international rankings. In impressive fashion, Sakshi (54kg), Jaismine (57kg), and Nupur (80+kg) won their finals and secured gold medals. Sakshi won her bout over Yosline Perez from the USA with a unanimous decision of the judges. Jaismine, while remaining composed, outscored Jucielen Cequeira Romeu (Brazil) by a score of 4:1. Nupur showcased a powerful and confident performance in her bout over Yeldana Talipova (Kazakhstan) defeating Talipova by a score of 5:0.

India’s Performance at the Event

The Indian boxing team finished with 11 medals (3 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze) which is the best for India at the world boxing cup, the countries earlier performance possessed of 6 medals and included a gold and silver in the first leg in Brazil. India has made a progressive performance improvement in Astana and is seen to be strongly rising as a world up and coming boxing nation.

The concluding day of the event opened with Sakshi’s confidence at play. Her quickness, speed, punches, and movement secured her the gold medal and set the mood for the day.
