Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan
Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) is a flagship initiative of the Government of Assam to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth of the state. The scheme was launched in September, 2023 to support unemployed persons by providing financial support and skill development training and supporting them in setting up micro-enterprises.
Objectives
• Promote Entrepreneurship – Enabler for start-ups and scaling up of existing ventures to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Assam.
• Employment Generation – To facilitate self-employment opportunities in rural and urban areas.
• Financial Support – To provide financial support to eligible unemployed persons for starting a new economic activity or scaling up existing enterprise.
• Skill Development – Training for entrepreneurship, management and accounting.
Beneficiary Coverage
Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme aims to cover 2 lakh eligible beneficiaries over the next 2 years. Accordingly, 1 lakh youth will be targeted during FY 2023-24 and rest 1 lakh will be targeted in FY 2024-25.
