National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE)

NCFTE or National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education which is a framework created by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) of India which specifies guidelines and standards for teacher education programs. NCFTE aims to enhance the quality of teacher education as per the changing needs of the education system.
Key features of NCFTE:

• Purpose:
  Providing well-known framework for teacher education-including and pre-service training, in-service development and continuing professional development.
• Scope:
  Across the levels of teacher education (from preschool to higher secondary), the scope covers curriculum, pedagogical and school internship.
• Principles:
  Learner-centered approach, promoting critical thinking, and integrating theoretical learning and practical experience.
• Updates:
  The NCFTE is updated from time to time with the NCFTE 2021 due to be issued by 2021 in consultation with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
