Purple Fair 2025 Launched in Goa

The spirit of inclusion truly shone in Goa as Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant kicked off the 3rd edition of the International Purple Fair 2025 – Celebrating Diversity. This event, designed to highlight the talent, entrepreneurship, and empowerment of persons with disabilities (PwDs), marks a significant step in India’s journey toward a more inclusive and accessible society.

Key Highlights of the Purple Fair 2025
- Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, spoke about the evolving role of State Commissioners for Persons with Disabilities (SCPDs).
- He reiterated Goa’s commitment to creating a society where inclusion is not just policy but a mindset.
- Hon’ble Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar said that Persons with disabilities are no longer seen merely as beneficiaries. They are professionals, entrepreneurs, and active contributors to society.
Collaboration and Participation
The Purple Fair 2025 was organized by State Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities, Directorate of the Social Welfare, Entertainment Society of Goa, in collaboration with, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The event also featured collaborations with organizations like NCPEDP, Saksham, Bookshare, DAIG, Rising Flame, and United Nations India.
