• Migratory Importance: Sur Sarovar is an important stop-over site for migratory birds on the Central Asian flyway, including Sarus crane, several types of herons, egrets, cormorants, numerous ducks, geese, particularly during the winter months of November to February which are the best months to visit for birds.
• Touristic Attractions: Sur Sarovar is a popular place for visiting birds, nature photography, get-a-way from the city, possibly a boat ride.
