The area of a trapezium is 180 and its height is 9 cm. If one of the parallel sides is longer than the other by 6 cm, find the two parallel sides

Sol:

Let one of the parallel sides be x cm. and other be (x + 6) cm.

Area of a trap.

40 = 2x + 6

=>x=17

Two parallel sides are 17cm and 23 cm.
