Udasin Satra

Features of Nostalgic Session:

• Celibacy:
  At Udasi satras, both the Satradhikari (head of the satra) and the followers practice celibacy.
• Example:
  Uttar Kamalabari Satra, Auniati Satra and Bhogpur Satra represent examples of Nostalgic Satra.
• Home Session:
  The Garmur Satra located in Majuli serves as an example of a householder satra, where devotees do not practice celibacy.

• Sattras are religious-cultural institutions within the Vaishnavite tradition, established by the 16th century reformer Srimanta Sankardeva and his disciple Madhavadeva.
