Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 launched by Union Education Minister

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched Viksit Bharat Buildathon on 23 Sept, 2025 in New Delhi. The Buildathon aims to inspire creative thinking for national development, promote self-reliance and sustainable growth, engage schools in synchronized innovation, project India as a global innovation capital through a potential world record, and celebrate young problem-solvers on national and global platforms. It builds on the success of the School Innovation Marathon 2024, which led to programs like the Student Innovator Programme (SIP) and Student Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP), along with patents and startup ventures from Atal Tinkering Labs.
Key highlights of the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025:
- On 23 September, Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 was launched by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi.
- The initiative aims to nurture creativity, problem-solving, and self-reliance among students.
- The Department of School Education and Literacy is organising the programme with NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission.
- The Buildathon will be held on 13 October 2025.
- Students were allowed to register from 22 September to 6 October 2025.
- A participation of nearly 12 crore students from six lakh schools is expected.
