History of World Intellectual Property Day:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000<\/strong> to \u201craise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life.\u201d April 26th was chosen as the day to celebrate World Intellectual Property Day as it coincides with the date when the convention establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization came into effect in 1970.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It marks the anniversary of a battle that was fought at the Kheba hills of Khongjom in Manipur in 1891.
