A 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, Mr. Kwatra succeeded Harsh Vardhan Shringla who retired from service on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Prior to this, Mr Kwatra was serving as&nbsp;<strong>India\u2019s envoy to Nepal.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who is Vinay Mohan Kwatra<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>He is a 1988-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer.<br><\/li><li>Before his diplomatic posting to Nepal in 2020, he served as the Ambassador of India to France from August 2017 to February 2020.<\/li><li>He has a career diplomat with over 32 years of experience.<\/li><li>Kwatra also held the position of a Joint Secretary in the Prime Minister\u2019s Office (PMO) for two years between October 2015 and August 2017.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Seasoned diplomat Vinay Mohan Kwatra has taken charge as India\u2019s new foreign secretary at a time in New Delhi.
