GeM signs MoU with SEWA to boost Women-led Enterprises<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Government eMarketplace (GeM) and Self-Employed Women\u2019s Association (SEWA) have signed an MoU for the advocacy, outreach, mobilization and capacity-building of last-mile women-led enterprises. The MoU was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of GeM P. K. Singh and Vice-President of SEWA Rehana Riyawala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GeM will train SEWA members to assist and enable women-led small enterprises with GeM processes related to seller registration and onboarding on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G7 countries approves to provide financial support to Ukraine<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Group of Seven (G7) countries have agreed to provide financial support to Ukraine to meet its immediate financing needs. The US Senate has approved a USD 40 billion package of military, economic and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christian Lindner (German Finance Minister) has announced a contribution of USD 1.1 billion to Ukraine\u2019s budget. The European Commission has pledged up to USD 9.5 billion of macro-financial assistance in the form of loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

China Plans World\u2019s First Habitable Planet Search With Space Telescope<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Chinese scientists have proposed a project to hunt for habitable Earth-like planets outside our solar system through a space telescope. This is will be the world\u2019s first space mission specially designed to search for habitable planets in the universe.  The proposed project will involve surveying the sky through a space-borne telescope to hunt for habitable planets about 32 light-years from Earth. The project, named Closeby Habitable Exoplanet Survey (CHES) would be the first space mission specially designed to search for habitable terrestrial planets around nearby Sun-like stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exploration of habitable planets outside the solar system is one of the key frontiers of fundamental research in astronomy. The discovery of the nearby habitable worlds will be a great breakthrough for humankind, and will also help humans visit those Earth twins and expand our living space in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a research professor from the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ji Jianghui, more than 5,000 exoplanets have been discovered and confirmed so far, including around 50 Earth-like planets in the habitable zone. However, most of these are hundreds of light-years away from Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
