She succeeded former Supreme Court judge Justice CK Prasad, who held the office from 2014 to 2022. She became the first women chairperson of Press Council of India. She was a judge of the Supreme Court from 2011 to 2014. She also headed the Delimitation Commission on J&K<\/p>\n\n\n\n
