To raise awareness about the downfalls of the disease and motivate those who suffer from it, World Alzheimer\u2019s Day is celebrated each year across the globe on September 21.\u00a0 Alzheimer\u2019s disease is the most common cause of dementia and affects the person\u2019s memory, mental ability, and ability to carry out simple tasks. On World Alzheimer\u2019s Day, healthcare organizations support Alzheimer\u2019s walks while seminars and public activities are held in communities around the globe to raise awareness on Alzheimer\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/category\/daily-quiz\/daily-quiz-september-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">September 2022 Current Affairs Quiz<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>World Alzheimer\u2019s Day 2022: Theme<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s theme for World Alzheimer\u2019s Month is&nbsp;<strong>\u2018Know Dementia, know Alzheimer\u2019s\u2019.<\/strong>&nbsp;It is in continuation with the last year\u2019s campaign which focused on warning signs and diagnosis of dementia and also the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the dementia community around the world. However, this year, special emphasis will be laid on post-diagnosis support for dementia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>World Alzheimer\u2019s Day: History<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>World Alzheimer\u2019s Day<\/strong>&nbsp;was first marked on&nbsp;<strong>21 September 1994<\/strong>&nbsp;at the opening of ADI\u2019s annual conference in Edinburgh. The day was celebrated to mark the 10th anniversary of the organization, which was founded in 1984. ADI promotes Alzheimer\u2019s associations around the world and works to encourage the development of better policies at regional and international levels.
