The National Repository for Life Science data was generated from publicly-funded research in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8216;Indian Biological Data Centre&#8217; (IBDC), established at the Regional Centre of Biotechnology here, has data storage capacity of four petabytes and is also home to the &#8216;Brahm&#8217; High Performance Computing facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/category\/daily-quiz\/daily-quiz-november-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">November 2022 Current Affairs Quiz<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Centre Unveils India\u2019s First National Repository for Life Science Data- Key Points<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Before the&nbsp;National Repository for Life Science data&nbsp;was unveiled the sciences data was stored in data repositories in&nbsp;Europe and the US&nbsp;till now.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The computational infrastructure at&nbsp;IBDC&nbsp;has also been made available for researchers who are interested in performing computational-intensive analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IBDC has also started&nbsp;nucleotide data submission services&nbsp;via two data portals viz.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Center also provided an online &#8220;Dashboard&#8221; for the INSACOG labs&#8217; genomic surveillance data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These INSACOG labs provide customized data submission, access, data analysis services, and real-time SARS-CoV-2 variant monitoring across the country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data submission and access&nbsp;to the portal for other data types are under development and would be launched.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IBDC is committed to the spirit of data sharing as per&nbsp;FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Centre Unveils India\u2019s First National Repository for Life Science Data: India&#8217;s first national repository for\u00a0life science\u00a0data, generated from publicly-funded research in the country, was unveiled here on Thursday by Science and Technology Minister\u00a0Jitendra Singh.
