The international section is an important and focused area of this time, and more than 180 films have been selected to screen at the festival. The Minister informed that a children\u2019s film package, suggested by UNICEF, has been introduced for the first time in IFFI, and which would include the screening of about seven films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the 53rd IFFI:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will take place from November 20 to November 28. According to the official statement, The IFFI has also announced the line-up for its Indian Panorama segment in which several feature and non-feature films will be showcased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important segments of 53rd IFFI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>Opening Film and Closing Film<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Austrian film \u2018Alma and Oskar\u2019, directed by Dieter Berner, will open the annual festival while Krzysztof Zanussi\u2019s \u2018Perfect Number\u2019 is the closing film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>Country Focus<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>France<\/strong>&nbsp;is the \u2018Spotlight\u2019 country and 8 films will be screened under \u2018Country Focus\u2019 package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>Indian Panorama<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018Indian Panorama\u2019 will open with Prithvi Konanur\u2019s Kannada film \u2018Hadinelentu\u2019, while \u2018The Show Must Go On\u2019 by Divya Cowasji will flag off the non-feature film section. There will be special screenings of Pan Nalin\u2019s Chello Show\u2014The Last Film Show, India\u2019s official entry to the Oscars in the Best Foreign Language category and Madhur Bhandarkar\u2019s India Lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>\u2018Indian Restored Classics\u2019<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A few films from the National Film Archives of India (NFAI) will also be showcased by the NFDC in the \u2018Indian Restored Classics\u2019 section. These include Sohrab Modi\u2019s 1957 costume- drama Nausherwan-E-Adil, Ramesh Maheshwary\u2019s 1969 National Award-winning Punjabi film Nanak Nam Jahaz Hai, K Vishwanath\u2019s 1980 Telugu musical drama Sankarabharnam and two Satyajit Ray classics, the 1977 period-drama Shatranj Ke Khiladi and the 1989 social- drama Ganashatru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>Dadasaheb Phalke winner retrospective<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Three films of 52nd Dadasaheb Phalke awardee (declared in the 68th National Film Awards) Asha Parekh \u2013Teesri Manzil, Do Badan and Kati Patang will be screened as part of the Asha Parekh retrospective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><u>Homage<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018Homage\u2019 section will include fifteen Indian and five international films. Tributes will be paid to Bharat Ratna&nbsp;Lata Mangeshkar,&nbsp;singer-composer&nbsp;Bappi Lahiri,&nbsp;Kathak maestro&nbsp;Pt. Birju Maharaj,&nbsp;actors&nbsp;Ramesh Deo,&nbsp;Shivkumar Subhramanium, T. Rama Rao, Vatsala Deshmukh, Maheshwari Amma, Salim Ghouse,&nbsp;singer&nbsp;KK,&nbsp;director&nbsp;Tarun Majumder,&nbsp;director-producer&nbsp;Ravi Tandon&nbsp;and&nbsp;Saawan Kumar Tak,&nbsp;actor and theater artist&nbsp;Nipon Goswami,&nbsp;actor and film maker&nbsp;Pratap Pothen,&nbsp;actor&nbsp;Krishnam Raju&nbsp;and singer&nbsp;Bhupinder Singh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the International section,
