The summit is being organized from 15th to 17th December, 2022 at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi by National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and Center for Ganga River Basin Management and Studies (cGanga) to impart impetus towards developing water and environmental infrastructure to protect rivers and water bodies in India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2022 Theme: Restoration and Conservation of Small Rivers in a Large Basin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focus: On the select aspects of \u2018Mapping and Convergence of 5Ps\u2019 – People, Policy, Plan, Programme and Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aim: To give an insight into the potential causes for divergence and formulate a strategy to achieve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The five key elements \u2014 People, Policy, Plan, Programme and Project\u2014 and their convergence is a significant challenge towards river basin management. This is why the 7th Edition of the India Water Impact Summit aims to understand, elaborate, delineate potential causes of divergence, and formulate strategy for convergence. This will be done through collation of views expressed in Plenary Sessions, Panel Discussions, International Forums, and informal discussions through extensive engagement with the most influential players. The plenary sessions of the 7th<\/sup> IWIS include Restoration and Conservation of Small Rivers in a Large Basin \u2018Mapping and Convergence of 5P\u2019s, \u2018Lessons from Various River Related Programmes\u2019, \u2018Bottlenecks and Course Correction in River Related Programmes\u2019. The thematic sessions include \u2018Setting the Goal to Determine Healthy Status of the Rivers\u2019, \u2018Establishing Present Condition and Norms for Bio-physical Status of Healthy Rivers in Different Stretches and Setting the Milestone\u2019, Formulation and Execution of River Monitoring Programmes\u2019, \u2018Information\/Data Collation, Utilization and Dissemination Strategy\u2019 etc. The Summit has been divided into five broad Tracks including \u2018Science and Policy\u2019, \u2018Finance and Economics\u2019, \u2018Technology and Innovation\u2019, \u2018International\u2019 and \u2018Implementation Challenges\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
