Insurance Scheme for\nHealth Workers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n- The Centre would provide Rs. 50 lakh medical\ninsurance cover for the next three months for about 22 lakh health workers in\ngovernment hospitals fighting the spread of the virus at personal risk.<\/li>
- The health workers include ASHA (Accredited\nSocial Health Activist) workers, medical sanitary workers in government\nhospitals, paramedics, nurses and doctors.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Food Security for the\nNext Three Months (PM Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojana)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n- Each person who is covered under the National\nFood Security Act would get an additional five kg wheat or rice for free, in\naddition to the 5 kg of subsidised foodgrain already provided through the\nPublic Distribution System (PDS).<\/li>
- One kg of pulse a household would also be\nprovided for free, according to regional preferences. This is expected to\nbenefit about 80 crore people.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Cash Transfers and\nOther Benefits over Next Three Months<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n- About 3 crore poor pensioners above 60 years,\nwidows and disabled people would be given \u20b91000 in two instalments.<\/li>
- The 20 crore women holding Jan Dhan Yojana\naccounts would get \u20b9500 a month.<\/li>
- The 8.3 crore poor households, which received\ncooking gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme, would get free gas cylinders.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
For Workers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n- Wages are being hiked under the Mahatma Gandhi\nNational Rural Employment Guarantee Act scheme, from \u20b9182 to \u20b9202 a day.<\/li>
- The Centre is directing the States to use the\n\u20b931,000 crore held by Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Boards to\nprovide support to the 3.5 crore registered workers.<\/li>
- The States can also use the money available\nunder District Mineral Funds for medical screening, testing and treatment.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
For Land-owning\nFarmers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n- The first instalment of \u20b92000 due to them under\nthe PM-KISAN income support scheme will be paid promptly in April, the first\nmonth of the financial year.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
For Companies &\nSHGs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n- For small companies with 100 employees or less,\nof whom 90% earn less than \u20b915,000 a month, the Centre will bear the cost of\nboth employer and employee contribution (a total of 24%) to the Employees\nProvident Fund (EPF) for the next three months. This will benefit 80 lakh\nemployees, and incentivise 4 lakh establishments.<\/li>
