On January 11, 2023, he will receive the honour at a virtual ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/category\/daily-quiz\/daily-quiz-january-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">January 2023 Current Affairs Quiz<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CJI DY Chandrachud to be Conferred with \u201cAward for Global Leadership\u201d \u2013 Key Points<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chief Justice Dr. DY Chandrachud and Professor David Wilkins of Harvard Law School will converse at the occasion. The \u201cAward for Global Leadership\u201d is the Centre\u2019s highest Professional Honor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Centre brings together leading academics, legal practitioners, and thought leaders to honor and recognize individuals whose achievements have been impactful to the legal profession.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Professor Wilkins has praised India and Justice Chandrachud\u2019s contribution to issues such as the mental health and well-being of lawyers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Former US Permanent Representative to the UN and current Director of the Agency for International Development, Samantha Power, Brad Smith, Vice Chair of Microsoft, and Kenneth Frazier, Former Chair and CEO of Merck, are among the most recent honorees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chief Justice Chandrachud, took oath as the Chief Justice of India in November 2022. He holds an LLM and an SJD from Harvard Law School.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Dr. DY Chandrachud<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dhananjaya Yashwant Chandrachud is an Indian judge who is currently serving as the 50th Chief Justice of India. He is the former ex-officio executive chairman of the National Legal Services Authority while being J1 of the Supreme court of India.
