During the event, Minister Dr Jitendra Singh dedicated 4 Doppler Weather Radar Systems to the Western Himalayan States of Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aim:&nbsp;To predict extreme weather events more accurately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/category\/daily-quiz\/daily-quiz-january-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">January 2023 Current Affairs Quiz<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will&nbsp;enhance weather monitoring capabilities and benefit the farmers&nbsp;to contribute significantly to the economy. IMD has taken proactive steps to&nbsp;increase the Radar Network from a mere 15 in 2013 to 37 in 2023. Doppler weather radar, commonly known as Weather Surveillance Radar (WSR), is a type of radar used to find precipitation, determine its motion, and also the type of precipitation (rain, snow, hail, etc.).
