Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, has provided a 40 million dollar line of credit with favourable terms for the development of sports facilities in the Maldives. It is a part of New Delhi&#8217;s efforts to include the Neighborhood First Policy in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi&#8217;s key initiatives, such as fit India and Khelo India. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Maldivian counterpart Abdulla Shahid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sports infrastructure across islands will be developed through the dedicated concessional USD 40 million Line of Credit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fit India and Khelo India were introduced by the Modi government to revive sporting and fitness culture at the grass root level in India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Shaviyani Foakaidhoo community centre is one of 45 high-impact projects that New Delhi is working on with the Maldives government, 23 of which have already been finished.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foakaidhoo is one of the inhabited islands of the Shaviyani Atoll administrative division and is geographically part of Miladhummadulhu Atoll in the Maldives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New Delhi\u2019s cooperation in the areas of sports and youth development has expanded rapidly through the gifting of equipment and training of Maldivian athletes in India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On 64 islands, including Foakaidhoo, India has started grant projects to build youth centres, bolster sports facilities, and build outdoor gyms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India Extended USD 40 Million for Bolstering Sports Infrastructure in Maldives: S.
