So far, only 4,302 children have benefited from the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About \u2018PM-CARES for Children\u2019 Scheme:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scheme was launched on May 29, 2021, with the goal of assisting children who have lost both or surviving parent(s), legal guardian\/adoptive parents, or a single adoptive parent to Covid-19. The status of children in need of care and protection included orphans (10,094), lost either parent (1,36,910) and abandoned (488) taking the total to 1,47,492.
