The nationwide\nlockdown, to prevent COVID-19, has led to minimal air pollution in over 90 cities\nincluding Delhi. Environmentalists have welcomed the reduction in pollution and\nhave urged the government to treat it as a wake-up call and stop the\ndevelopment at the cost of the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the lockdown, the government has asked the people to avoid\nunnecessary travel which has significantly reduced the traffic movement. Other\nfactors which have contributed to the improved air quality are shutting down of\nindustries and construction sites and rains. The low AQI and the blue skies\nprove that air pollution was mostly anthropomorphic (man-made), which can be\nreduced by conscious efforts. Reducing air pollution by rapidly slowing down\nthe economy is not an ideal way so mindful use of technologies and low-emission\nalternatives can be opted to minimise the pollution. It was also emphasised\nthat air pollution weakens the lungs so countries like India with higher\npollution and lower nutrition levels will be more affected by COVID-19 leading\nto higher morbidity and deaths.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The world is fighting against the Covid-19.
