The day celebrates the military&#8217;s enormous and unprecedented contribution to the nation&#8217;s unity, integrity, and sovereignty. CRPF is India\u2019s largest Central Armed Police Force, which operates under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/daily-current-affairs-and-quiz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz: July 2023<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On its 85th Raising Day, the CRPF is paying tribute to its martyrs and reaffirming its commitment to protect the nation. The force is also organizing a number of events to mark the occasion, including a parade, a wreath-laying ceremony, and a blood donation camp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are some of the events that are being organized to mark the 85th Raising Day of the CRPF:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A parade will be held at the CRPF\u2019s headquarters in Delhi. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the National Police Memorial in Delhi. All CRPF camps around the country will host a blood donation event. A music concert and a dance performance will be among the cultural events planned. The 85th Raising Day of the CRPF is a proud moment for the force and for the nation. The CRPF has played a vital role in protecting the nation, and it continues to be a symbol of strength and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>History of CRPF:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The CRPF was founded on July 27, 1939, as the &#8220;Crown Representative&#8217;s Police.&#8221; After Independence, it became the Central Reserve Police Force on the enactment of the <strong>\u2018CRPF Act\u2019 on 28 December 1949,<\/strong> which constituted CRPF as an armed force of the Union.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After Independence, CRPF contingents were tasked to check infiltration and trans-border crimes in Kutch, Rajasthan, and Sindh borders. Following Pakistan&#8217;s intrusion, they were deployed on the Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During the 1962 Indo-China war, the force once again assisted the Indian Army in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Furthermore, during the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and 1971, the CRPF stood shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army on both the Western and Eastern borders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CPRF was the first paramilitary force in India, which sent its forces in the United Nations Peacekeeping Missions.
