Kenya-born Maroo\u2019s novel, set within the context of the British Gujarati milieu, has been praised by the Booker judges for its use of the sport of squash as a metaphor for complex human emotions. It revolves around the story of an 11-year-old girl named Gopi and her bonds with her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/daily-current-affairs-and-quiz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daily Current Affairs Quiz: August 2023<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 13 books, written by authors from Malaysia, Nigeria, Ireland, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, explore universal and topical themes ranging from deeply moving personal dramas to tragicomic family sagas, from the effects of climate change to minority oppression, and from scientific breakthroughs to competitive sport.
