Bhartiya Vastra evam Shilpa Kosh Portal:<\/strong> PM Modi\u00a0launched the website (e-portal) called\u00a0\u2018Bhartiya Vastra Evam Shilpa Kosh \u2013 A Repository of Textiles and Handicrafts\u2019,\u00a0has been developed by the National Institute while presiding over the 9th National Handloom Day celebrations at the\u00a0Bharat Mandap\u00a0at the\u00a0grand Pragati Maidan\u00a0in the national capital,\u00a0New Delhi. Bhartiya Vastra Evam Shilpa Kosh Portal aims to help entrepreneurs who need\u00a0research papers, doctoral theses, case studies, and dissertations related to textiles and handicrafts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Handloom Day is a special day dedicated to handloom weavers, acknowledging their role in India’s economic growth and cultural richness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 The theme for 2023, “Handlooms for Sustainable Fashion,” emphasizes the importance of incorporating handloom textiles into the fashion industry in an environmentally conscious manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Addressing the gathering of over 3000 weavers and artisans from across the country, the Prime Minister highlighted the contribution of the handloom industry of India and said that the confluence of old and new defines the new India of today. \u201cThe India of today is not just \u2018Local for Vocal\u2019 but also providing a global platform to take it to the world\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00b7 Highlighting the Swadeshi Movement, the Prime Minister said that it was not only limited to boycotting foreign-made textiles but a source of inspiration for the independent economy of India. He said that it was a movement to connect the weavers of India with the people, and this was the inspiration behind the government choosing this day as National Handloom Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
