He will succeed K Rajaraman, who has been appointed chairman of the International Financial Services Centre Authority (IFSCA) in Gujarat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>S Krishnan to Lead the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another significant appointment is that of <strong>S Krishnan<\/strong>, a distinguished 1989 batch IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre. Currently, Krishnan holds the position of industries secretary in the<strong> Tamil Nadu state government<\/strong>. His vast administrative experience led to his appointment as the new secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Krishnan\u2019s appointment comes as <strong>Alkesh Kumar Sharma<\/strong>, the previous secretary, retired on August 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Changes in Other Ministries and Departments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACC has also approved a series of changes in various ministries and departments:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>VL Kantha Rao<\/strong>, who previously served as an additional secretary in the Department of Telecommunications, has been appointed as the <strong>secretary in the Ministry of Mines<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Former mining secretary Vivek Bhardwaj will now serve as an officer on special duty in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Umang Narula<\/strong> has been designated as the <strong>secretary in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs<\/strong>, bringing his extensive administrative expertise to this crucial portfolio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Arunish Chawla, a 1992 batch IAS officer from the Bihar cadre, will take over as secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals within the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers on November 1, 2023.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chanchal Kumar<\/strong>, also from the 1992 batch and Bihar cadre, has been appointed as <strong>secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vumlunmang Vualnam<\/strong>, an IAS officer from the 1992 Manipur cadre, has been entrusted with the role of <strong>secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation<\/strong>.
