It is now being export to USA as well as many other countries to fight against the global pandemic. The decision also makes the India-US Partnership stronger than ever. It is due to the responding to a tweet from the US President H.E. Donald Trump who expressed his gratitude for India\u2019s decision to supply Hydroxychloroquine, in the USA\u2019s fight against COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/current-affairs-quiz-2019-daily-gk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Daily Current Affairs Quiz 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hydroxy-chloroquine is an oral drug used in the treatment of malaria and some autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Recent studies show that the HCQ drug alone or in combination with azithromycin appears to reduce the virus quickly. Further, the study suggests that prophylaxis (treatment given to prevent disease) with hydroxy-chloroquine at approved doses could prevent SARS-CoV-2 infection. Although the drug has some side effects, it is linked to instances of cardiac arrhythmia and liver damage.
