Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the celebration of \u2018Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas\u2019 at Birsa College, Khunti, Jharkhand, on 15th<\/sup> November 2023<\/strong>. Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, also known as Tribal Pride Day<\/strong>, is celebrated to honor the birth anniversary of the revered tribal freedom fighter, Birsa Munda<\/strong>. This occasion also witnessed the release of the 15th<\/sup> instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, reflecting the government\u2019s commitment to support farmers and promote inclusive agricultural development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi\u2019s Historic \u2018Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mark this historic day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the \u2018Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra\u2019 from Ulihatu Village in Jharkhand. <\/strong>This makes him the first sitting Prime Minister to visit the birthplace of Birsa Munda. The yatra is set to cover all districts across the country by 25th<\/sup> January<\/strong>, emphasizing the significance of Birsa Munda\u2019s contributions on a national scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birsa Munda, A Revolutionary Leader<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birsa Munda\u2019s impactful slogan, \u201cAbua Raj Ete Jana, Maharani Raj Tundu Jana<\/strong>,\u201d became a rallying cry for tribal empowerment. Despite his young age, he earned the title of \u2018Bhagwan\u2019<\/strong> or Lord due to his dedication to tribal causes. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 25<\/strong> in British custody at the Ranchi Jail,<\/strong> leaving behind a powerful legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognizing a Visionary Leader<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of immense contributions of Birsa Munda, the Union Cabinet declared November 15<\/strong>, the birthdate of Birsa Munda,\u2019 as \u2018Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas\u2019 in 2021.<\/strong> This annual celebration pays homage to Birsa Munda\u2019s role in India\u2019s freedom movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Birsa Munda Museum<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PM Modi inaugurated a museum in Ranchi dedicated to Birsa Munda<\/strong>, highlighting the importance of celebrating tribal culture and its contributions to national development. The museum, situated at the Old Central Jail in Ranchi where Birsa Munda breathed his last<\/strong>, features a 25-feet tall statue of the tribal icon<\/strong>. It also showcases the contributions of other tribal freedom fighters, creating a comprehensive narrative of their struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memorial Park and Collaborative Efforts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjacent to the museum is a 25-acre memorial park<\/strong>, a collaborative effort between the Centre and the Jharkhand Government<\/strong>. This park stands as a tribute to the indomitable spirit legacy of Birsa Munda and his fellow tribal freedom fighters.
