The\nwasp, Kudakrumia rangnekari, has been named after Goa-based researcher<strong>&nbsp;Parag Rangnekar.&nbsp;<\/strong>It\nbelongs to genus<strong>&nbsp;Kudakrumia.&nbsp;<\/strong>The\nKudakrumia is a<strong>&nbsp;genus\nof primitive wasps&nbsp;<\/strong>that is described and previously known&nbsp;<strong>only from Sri Lanka.<\/strong><br>\nThe new species was collected<strong>&nbsp;Cotigao Wildlife\nsanctuary.&nbsp;<\/strong>The Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary is located\nin&nbsp;<strong>South Goa\ndistrict, of Goa<\/strong>. The sanctuary was established in&nbsp;<strong>1968.<\/strong><br><br><strong>Wasp:<\/strong><br>\nA wasp is any insect of the order<strong>&nbsp;Hymenoptera and suborder\nApocrita<\/strong>&nbsp;that is neither a bee nor an ant. Wasps are adept\nat controlling pest populations and are regularly deployed to protect crops.\nFor example, in Brazil, farmers control sugarcane borers with a kind of\nparasitic wasp.<br><br><strong>Mr.Rangnekar:<\/strong><br>\nMr.Rangnekar\u2019s quest to document the butterflies\nof this unique region resulted in a record of<strong>&nbsp;220 species, of which 13 species&nbsp;<\/strong>had\nnot been spotted before.<br>\nMr. Rangnekar, who is the founder-president of\nthe<strong>&nbsp;Goa Bird\nConservation Network (GBCN),&nbsp;<\/strong>has now taken up the\ndocumentation of the dragonflies in the State.
