In a significant move toward modernization, the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO)<\/strong> under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI)<\/strong> has partnered with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC)<\/strong> under the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to digitize the Urban Frame Survey (UFS)<\/strong> using advanced Geo ICT tools and techniques through the Bhuvan Platform.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Points of the MoU:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Objective<\/strong>: Facilitating the Urban Frame Survey (UFS) in a digital mode to enhance efficiency and accuracy in data collection and maintenance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Participants<\/strong>: Signed by Shri Subash Chandra Malik, Additional Director General, NSSO, MoSPI, and Dr. Srinivasa Rao S, Deputy Director, BGWSA, NRSC, in the presence of key officials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Scope<\/strong>:\n
      \n
    • Development\/improvement of mobile application for Geo-tagging of NSSO Urban Frame Survey data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Creation of a web portal for visualization, data scrutiny, editing, etc., of data submitted through the mobile application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • QGIS plug-in development for accessing captured polygons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Fine-tuning of Block, IV-unit, Ward, and Town boundaries of UFS using High-Resolution Satellite Imagery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Capacity building of NSSO officials by NRSC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Progress<\/strong>:\n
        \n
      • Digital UFS conducted for the first time during Phase 2017-22, covering more than 5300 towns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • In the current phase\u00a0(2022 \u2013 2027),<\/strong>\u00a0survey works of around\u00a08134 towns<\/strong>\u00a0are planned with improved digital solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
