{"id":167264,"date":"2024-09-12T12:54:30","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T07:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=167264"},"modified":"2024-09-12T12:54:31","modified_gmt":"2024-09-12T07:24:31","slug":"pm-modi-inaugurates-rs-7200-crore-projects-in-west-bengal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/pm-modi-inaugurates-rs-7200-crore-projects-in-west-bengal\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Modi Inaugurates Rs 7,200 Crore Projects In West Bengal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for&nbsp;<strong>multiple development projects worth Rs 7,200 crore in Arambagh, Hooghly, West Bengal.<\/strong>&nbsp;The developmental projects are associated with sectors like rail, ports, oil pipeline, LPG supply and wastewater treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Empowerment through Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Prime Minister expressed confidence in the resolutions of\u00a0<strong>Viksit Bharat<\/strong>\u00a0being accomplished with the contributions of the people of West Bengal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PM Modi praised India\u2019s achievements in environmental harmony, citing the example of the<strong>\u00a0Haldia Barauni crude pipeline<\/strong>\u00a0which promotes safe and environmentally friendly transportation of crude oil.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Projects Inaugurated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.Indian Oil\u2019s Haldia-Barauni Crude Oil Pipeline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>This pipeline,\u00a0<strong>spanning 518 kilometers,<\/strong>\u00a0was inaugurated at a cost of about\u00a0<strong>Rs 2,790 crore.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It passes through Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, supplying crude oil to Barauni Refinery, Bongaigaon Refinery, and Guwahati Refinery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The pipeline ensures safe, cost-efficient, and environment-friendly transportation of crude oil, contributing to the energy security of the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.Indian Oil\u2019s LPG Bottling Plant at Vidyasagar Industrial Park, Kharagpur<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Developed at a cost of more than Rs 200 crore, this LPG bottling plant is the first of its kind in the region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>With a capacity of 120 TMTPA,<\/strong>\u00a0it will supply LPG to about 14.5 lakh customers in West Bengal, addressing the growing demand for clean cooking fuel in the area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.Infrastructure Strengthening at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Projects worth about Rs 1000 crore were dedicated to strengthening the infrastructure at the port.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This includes the reconstruction of Berth No. 8 NSD and the mechanization of berth no. 7 &amp; 8 NSD of Kolkata Dock System.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additionally, augmentation of the firefighting system at oil jetties of Haldia Dock Complex was inaugurated, equipped with state-of-the-art automated facilities for immediate hazard detection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The third Rail Mounted Quay Crane (RMQC) of Haldia Dock Complex, with a lifting capacity of 40 Tonnes, was also dedicated, aimed at boosting the productivity of the port substantially.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.Rail Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inauguration of the third rail line connecting<strong>\u00a0Jhargram \u2013 Salgajhari, spanning 90 kilometers.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doubling of Sondalia \u2013 Champapukur rail line covering 24 kilometers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doubling of Dankuni \u2013 Bhattanagar \u2013 Baltikuri rail line, covering 9 kilometers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These projects expand rail transport facilities in the region, improving mobility and facilitating seamless service of freight traffic, thereby fostering economic and industrial growth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.Wastewater Treatment and Sewerage Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inauguration of projects related to wastewater treatment and sewerage in West Bengal, developed at a cost of about\u00a0<strong>Rs 600 crore<\/strong>, funded by the World Bank.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Includes<strong>\u00a0Interception and Diversion<\/strong>\u00a0(I&amp;D) works and\u00a0<strong>Sewage Treatment Plants<\/strong>\u00a0(STPs) at Howrah, Bally, Kamarhati &amp;
