The Uttarakhand government organized India\u2019s first-ever astro-tourism<\/strong> event called \u2018Nakshatra Sabha\u2019<\/strong> in Mussoorie<\/strong>, the \u2018Queen of Hills\u2019, on June 1 and 2, 2024<\/strong>. The inaugural event was held at the George Everest Peak<\/strong>, famous for its breathtaking views of the Doon Valley and the snow-capped Himalayas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uttarakhand, known for its spiritual tourism and popular Hindu pilgrimage sites like Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, aims to promote itself as a multidimensional tourist destination. Following the success of the Mussoorie event, the government plans to host similar astro-tourism events in other locations such as Harsil-Jadung, Benital, Rishikesh, Jageshwar, and Ramnagar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, tourists were introduced to stargazing<\/strong> through specialized equipment, solar observation<\/strong> using solar glasses and H-Alpha filters, and astrophotography<\/strong> lessons from experts.
