The Indian Air Force (IAF)<\/strong>has\nsigned an agreement with the Indian Space\nResearch Organisation (ISRO) <\/strong>for crew selection and training<\/strong> for\nthe prestigious Gaganyaan, the country’s maiden\nmanned mission.<\/strong>
\nAVM RGK Kapoor, ACAS Ops (Space), IAF handed\nover the MoU to Shri R Hutton, Project Director of Gaganyaan Programme.

\nAgreement:<\/strong>
\n– Under the programme, a three-member crew <\/strong>will\nspend a minimum of seven days in\nspace. <\/strong>
\n– A human-rated GSLV Mk-lll<\/strong> will be used\nto carry the orbital module, which will have necessary provisions for\nsustaining a three-member crew for the duration of the mission. 
\n– The Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM)<\/strong> will\nlead the selection and training of astronauts on behalf of IAF.<\/strong>
\n– The necessary infrastructure for crew\ntraining, a realization of flight systems and ground infrastructure will be\nestablished to support the program. 
\n– The ISRO will collaborate extensively with\nnational agencies, laboratories, academia, and industry to accomplish the\nobjectives of the prestigious mission.
