In its\nfirst meeting, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on\nFriday decided to give monthly pension of Rs 3,000 to small traders,\nbusinessmen, and shopkeepers after they attain the age of 60 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The\nUnion Cabinet has approved, in its effort to provide to universal social<\/p>\n\n\n\n
security,\na new scheme which assures all shopkeepers, retail traders and selfemployed\npersons a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 after attaining the age of 60 years,”\nInformation and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar told media persons\nafter the Cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All\nsmall shopkeeper (\/search?query=small shopkeeper)s and self-employed<\/p>\n\n\n\n
persons\nas well as the retail traders with Goods and Services Tax (GST) turnover below\nRs 1.5 crore and aged between 18 and 40 years can enroll themselves for the\nscheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The\ndecision is likely to benefit 5 crore small traders in the coming three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nenrolment can be made through the Common Service Centre. For those who are 18\nyears of age, Rs 2 per day is the investment,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Those\nwho get enrolled at the age of 29 years will have to make a monthly\n\ninvestment of Rs 100 and Rs 200 per month for those who are enrolled at\nthe 40 years,” added Javadekar, saying: “It is a landmark decision\nfor small traders, businessmen, and small shopkeeper (\/search?query=small\nshopkeeper)s.”\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
