This initiative is designed to offer immediate support to victims through a comprehensive 24\/7 helpline, coordinated assistance from multiple departments, and effective on-ground response strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Step Towards Ensuring Safety and Empowerment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the launch event, Dr. Baljit Kaur highlighted the crucial need for women to feel safe when reporting crimes. She encouraged the women of Punjab to save the emergency helpline number \u2018181\u2019 on their mobile phones for assistance in times of distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project represents a significant advancement in the fight against gender-based violence by bringing together government agencies and offering comprehensive support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Features of \u2018Project Hifazat\u2019<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. 24\u00d77 Women and Child Helpline for Immediate Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the initiatives \u2018Mission Shakti\u2019 and \u2018Mission Vatsalya\u2019, the project introduces two specialized helplines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Women Helpline: 181 \u2013 This helpline is designed to support individuals facing domestic violence, workplace harassment, and other offenses against women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Child Helpline: 1098 \u2013 This service aims to assist children who are experiencing abuse, exploitation, or any type of violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These helplines will be available 24\/7, ensuring that women and children can access help whenever they need it. In emergency situations, calls will be routed directly to the \u2018Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112)\u2019, allowing for prompt police action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Multi-Departmental Coordination for Efficient Action<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To improve the effectiveness of \u2018Project Hifazat\u2019, there will be collaboration among various government departments to ensure comprehensive support for victims. The main departments involved are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Punjab Police \u2013 Responsible for immediate law enforcement actions and rescue operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development \u2013 To offer shelter, rehabilitation, and financial aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Department of Health and Family Welfare \u2013 For providing medical assistance, trauma care, and mental health counseling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Legal Aid Authorities \u2013 To help victims with filing cases, securing protection orders, and navigating the legal system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This coordinated approach will guarantee that victims receive timely legal, medical, and psychological support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Deployment of Rescue Vehicles for On-Ground Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To strengthen the emergency response system,&nbsp;<strong>dedicated rescue vehicles<\/strong>&nbsp;will be stationed in&nbsp;<strong>every district<\/strong>.
