Developed indigenously by DRDO\u2019s Electronics &amp; Radar Development Establishment (LRDE),\u2002the radar system is solid-state based and can track aerial targets like drones, helicopters and fighter jets. This deal is in consonance with\u2002the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative of the government to promote indigenisation in defence production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Highlights of the Deal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Ashwini LLTR Radar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Active electronically scanned\u2002phased array radar designed by DRDO and BEL<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Levies on Sound State Technologies for yen base\u2002achievement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Follow high-speed\u2002fighter jets as well as slow-moving drones and helicopters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is armed with Integrated Identification Friend\u2002or Foe (IFF) system for 4D (range, azimuth, elevation and velocity) surveillance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equipped\u2002with Electronic Counter Countermeasures (ECCM) to counter enemy jamming.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indigenously developed radars, in line\u2002with India\u2019s Atmanirbhar in defence manufacturing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Details of the BEL-MoD Deal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u20b92,906 crore contract signed on March 14, 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The deal was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is BEL\u2019s second major defence order in a week, following a \u20b9577 crore deal for,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Airborne electronic warfare systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Underwater communication systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doppler weather radars<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Train communication systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Radar upgrades and related services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a major move to bolster India&#8217;s air defence capabilities,\u2002Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on Monday signed a \u20b92,906 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for supply of Low-Level Transportable Radar (LLTR) Ashwini.
