This decision, effective from January 7, 2025, comes after she did not challenge the doping charges, even after several reminders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Doping Violation and AIU Investigation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Positive Test Result at Pune Half-Marathon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Archana Jadhav\u2019s sample was taken during the Pune Half-Marathon in December 2024, and it later came back positive for Oxandrolone. This substance is a synthetic anabolic steroid often used to boost muscle growth and enhance protein production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the test findings, she faced a provisional suspension starting January 7, 2025. Even after multiple notifications, she chose not to challenge the results, which the AIU interpreted as an admission of guilt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lack of Response to AIU and AFI Notices<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On\u00a0February 25, 2025, Jadhav responded to the AIU\u2019s violation charge with an email stating:<br>\u201cI am extremely sorry sir\u2026 I welcome your decision.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AIU took this as an indication that she\u00a0did not wish to challenge the findings\u00a0or request a formal hearing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She was\u00a0given until March 3, 2025, to confirm whether she admitted to the Anti-Doping Rule Violation, but she did\u00a0not respond further.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Consequences of the Ban<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Disqualification and Loss of Achievements<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The four-year\u00a0ban starts from January 7, 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All her results since\u00a0December 15, 2024, have been\u00a0disqualified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She must\u00a0forfeit all medals, awards, points, prizes, and appearance money\u00a0earned during the disqualified period.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Failure to Exercise Right to \u2018B\u2019 Sample Test<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Initially, Jadhav expressed a desire to test her\u00a0\u2018B\u2019 sample\u00a0but\u00a0failed to follow through.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>She missed the\u00a0January 17 deadline\u00a0to confirm and pay the necessary fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AIU\u00a0extended the deadline\u00a0to\u00a0January 24, but she\u00a0failed to respond.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indian long-distance runner Archana Jadhav has received a four-year ban from the World Athletics\u2019 Athletes Integrity Unit (AIU) after testing positive for a prohibited substance, Oxandrolone.
