To serve the public and honor outstanding contributions across various fields, the Government of Assam is introducing the Assam Civilian Awards, modeled after the Bharat Ratna and Padma Awards, which are the highest civilian honors in India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The awards include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Assam Baibhav <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Assam Saurav <\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Assam Gaurav <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It would be on the similar patterns of Bharat Ratna and Padma Awards, the higest Civilian Awards of the Government of India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Generally, the number of Awards to be given every year for the Assam Baibhav-1, Assam Saurav and Assam Gaurav are 1, 3 and 15 respectively. However, the number of awards may vary every year in each category as per the decision of the Award Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The awardees will be provided with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the above awardees will also be offered the following facilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Free medical treatment in government hospitals, including stays in paying cabins when possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Free lodging at State Government Circuit Houses, Guest Houses, and Assam Bhawans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 They will be invited as distinguished guests to all official functions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 The Government of Assam will cover up to Rs. 2 lakh for medical expenses related to critical illnesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 In addition to the award money and other benefits, awardees can also travel for free on ASTC buses, as long as they provide a 24-hour notice before their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
