\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPunjab State government plans to ban online delivery of food\nwithout hygiene<\/strong>rating as per the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India\n(FSSAI) <\/strong>guidelines. The announcement was made by the Health Minister Brahm Mohindra <\/strong>announced\non 30 May. The decision was taken under the ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’.<\/strong>

Conditions\nlaid by the State:<\/strong>
\nHealth Minister of the State Brahm Mohindra has\nissued directions to all online\nfood order and supply companies<\/strong> to display the hygiene\nrating of the food business operators registered with them.
\nThe State has given three months for\ncompliance <\/strong>with the law. After the deadline, no online\nfood order will be delivered in the state without the hygiene rating.
\nThe online food companies can take orders from\nconsumers and deliver it after\nprocuring the hygiene rating<\/strong> from the Food Business\nOperators associated with them.

Reason: <\/strong>
\nThe online food order and door to door delivery\nmechanism of the food supply have created a physical disconnect between\nconsumers and the food maker. Therefore, the onus of ensuring the quality of\nfood <\/strong>and that conditions under which food is prepared are\nhygienic has shifted to the intermediate food delivery mechanism.
