Dunlop is credited with creating the pneumatic tire, but with specific regard to bicycles, for it has also developed to make tires for other vehicles. Dunlop&#8217;s patent was approved in 1888 and was the first designed to make transportation a better experience for those using it. Dunlop&#8217;s invention was a huge advancement from the solid rubber tires that preceded it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>For more detail:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inspiration:<br>Dunlop&#8217;s invention stemmed from seeing his son over a rough surface on a tricycle with solid tires and thinking how uncomfortable it must be.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development:<br>Dunlop developed a pneumatic tire from sheets of rubber and an air pump in 1887 for his son&#8217;s tricycle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Patenting and Promotion:<br>He patented the tire in 1888, and founded the Dunlop Rubber Company with W.H. Du Cros in 1890 who began to produce the pneumatic tires as a product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Effect:<br>The pneumatic tire was rapidly accepted becoming tape standard for bicycles and outfitting other vehicles i.e. automobiles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognition:<br>Dunlop is widely recognized for invention is one of the most significant events in transportation, and to the extent that Dunlop manufactured rubber goods he is remember to this day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>J.B.
