Language is a significant part of India\u2019s cultural and educational identity. There are 22 languages recognized in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution as official languages. The Government of India sets aside money for the promotion, preservation, and development of the languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. Over the past 10 years, the allocation of funds has been uneven across the languages and relates to intercultural priorities involving educational programs and funding for institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
