In a pivotal infrastructure initiative taking shape to enhance local connectivity in Tamil Nadu, the Union Cabinet approved funding for a four-lane road between Paramakudi and Ramanathapuram, on July 1, 2025. The project, which is part of National Highway-87 (NH-87), will be completed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) with a project cost of \u20b91,853 crore. This will benefit traffic congestion and safety and support the socio-economic development of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project made news when Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the Cabinet approved to upgrade from two lanes the 46.7 km Paramakudi – Ramanathapuram of NH-87. This comes at a time when traffic volumes are rising, creating demands on upgrading infrastructure for tourism, trade, and local-level industries. The development aligns with India\u2019s broader effort to upgrade infrastructure and generate job opportunities in semi-urban and rural areas of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bihar Govt Unveils Youth and Cultural Welfare Schemes to Support Youth Employability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a significant move aimed at working to expand youth employment and improve cultural preservation, the Bihar Cabinet approved a number of welfare schemes on July 1, 2025, including Mukhya Mantri Pratigya Yojana to support internships, Mukhya Mantri Kalakar Pension Yojana for senior artists, and a Rs 882 crore development project for Punaura Dham temple, Sitamarhi, all part of a government effort to deal with employment, culture and tourism ahead of upcoming Assembly elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Bihar Cabinet approved 24 important proposals on July 1, 2025 related to youth welfare, support for cultural artists and sending focus on religious tourism before the upcoming elections. The Cabinet approved the proposals to help create more income or employment reducing unemployment, promote heritage tourism, give economic support to cultural artists and community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Mukhyamantri Pratigya Yojana \u2013 Internship Support Scheme.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Purpose of the scheme: To provide replacement support by way of financial assistance to youth for pursuing an internship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Age: Between the ages of 18 and 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Education: Class 12 (12th, after primary), ITI, Diploma, Graduate or Post-graduate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Must be trained through a skill development programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Class 12 will get Rs 4,000\/month,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  Rs 5,000\/month for an ITI or Diploma<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022  If they are undertaking their internship outside of their normal home district an additional payment of Rs. 2,000\/month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Gujarat CM Launches Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan to Expand Welfare Reach<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, launched the Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan in Gandhinagar on June 30, 2025, to start a national campaign aimed at bringing unserved eligible citizens into scope of major government welfare schemes. The Jan Suraksha Santrupti Abhiyan campaign will expand reach to social security schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, and the Jan Dhan Yojana, awareness on digital fraud, and KYC updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In a historic gesture of diplomacy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with Ghana\u2019s highest civilian honor, the \u201cOfficer of the Order of the Star of Ghana,\u201d during his first-ever visit to Ghana.     In a big move towards modernizing India’s disaster response mechanism, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri C. R. Patil, launched C-FLOOD, a Unified Inundation Forecasting System, on July 2, 2025. C-FLOOD was developed together by C-DAC, CWC, and NRSC, and is be a web-based platform, which provides a two-day advance flood forecasts up to the village level, which will support flood preparedness in flood prone areas & mitigate inundation impacts. The C-FLOOD initiative is part of the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) and highlights our country’s complementarity of science and technologies to combat climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The launch of the C-FLOOD platform was formally done by Union Minister Shri C.R. Patil in New Delhi on July 2, 2025.         Virudhunagar to Become Global Textile Hub Under PM MITRA Scheme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        The Government of India has approved a \u20b91,900 crore PM MITRA Textile Park in Virudhunagar (Tamil Nadu), representing an important milestone in growing India’s footprint in the global textile landscape. The mega park will be over 1,052 acres and have world class amenities like Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) treatment, a 10,000 bed dormitory, and over 1.3 million sq. ft. of immediately available industrial build space. The PM MITRA Textile Park will be positioned for growth in technical textiles, and sustainable apparel manufacturing, and is expected to provide over \u20b910,000 crore of investment and over 1 lakh potential jobs by 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, had also successfully inaugurated a 50,000-litre UHT Milk Processing Plant, in Jammu, via virtual presence and reaffirmed the commitment of the Centre to the development of livestock and fisheries in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        On July 2, 2025, in a function in Srinagar, Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh announced several initiatives across J&K in relation to the Fisheries and Livestock sectors, including a proposed \u20b9100 crore Integrated Aqua Park, the designation of Anantnag as a Cold-Water Fisheries Cluster, and the opening of a UHT Milk Plant at Satwari, Jammu, with a capacity of more than 50,000 litre\/day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
