This makes Qatar the eighth country to accept UPI, making it easier for Indian travelers to use their payment methods abroad. This exciting development comes from a partnership between NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL), Qatar National Bank (QNB), and the Japanese payment gateway NETSTARS. This initiative is set to significantly benefit Indian tourists, who represent the second-largest group of international visitors in Qatar. By facilitating real-time payments at retail stores, tourist attractions, and airport duty-free shops, UPI helps reduce the need for cash and currency exchange. The first to adopt this service are the Qatar Duty Free outlets at Hamad International Airport, with more merchants acquired by QNB expected to join in the upcoming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From Qatar\u2019s viewpoint, this move is also seen as a driver for economic growth.
