It also strengthens the country\u2019s role in combating malnutrition globally, aligning with the domestic Kuposhan Mukt Bharat mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK)?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fortified Rice Kernel is produced by blending rice flour with vital micronutrients like iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These are then shaped to resemble rice grains through a process called extrusion, and blended with normal rice at a fixed ratio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This creates a staple food that can help combat micronutrient deficiencies, often called \u201chidden hunger.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fortified rice is already distributed in India through the Food Corporation of India (FCI) under the Poshan Abhiyan, which aims to make India malnutrition-free.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chhattisgarh\u2019s Emerging Role in Agri Exports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chhattisgarh, often called the \u201cRice Bowl of India,\u201d has taken a leap from domestic distribution to global rice exports, thanks to sustained efforts from farmers, millers, and exporters in the state.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This shipment validates its rising capability in producing and exporting fortified rice, turning the spotlight on a new revenue stream for its agricultural economy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stakeholders, including The Rice Exporters Association of Chhattisgarh (TREA-CG), credited APEDA\u2019s facilitation and emphasized future plans to explore more global markets for FRK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a landmark step that merges health, technology, and international trade, India has exported its first consignment of fortified rice kernel (FRK) to Costa Rica.
