{"id":175017,"date":"2026-01-19T17:23:01","date_gmt":"2026-01-19T11:53:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/?p=175017"},"modified":"2026-01-19T17:23:05","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T11:53:05","slug":"plan-for-conducting-census-of-india-2027-approved-by-union-cabinet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gkseries.com\/blog\/plan-for-conducting-census-of-india-2027-approved-by-union-cabinet\/","title":{"rendered":"Plan for Conducting Census of India 2027 Approved By Union Cabinet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Union Cabinet has approved the Census of India 2027, allocating \u20b911,718 crore for what will be India\u2019s first digital census, conducted in two phases using a mobile app, a central monitoring portal (CMMS), and innovations like the HLB Creator Web Map Application.<br>Around 30 lakh field workers will participate, with the public also given the option of self-enumeration.<br>The Census will include caste enumeration, ensure enhanced data quality, enable faster dissemination, and generate nearly 10.2 million man-days of employment, making it a major step toward efficient, accurate, and technology-driven national data collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approval marks a major step toward launching the world\u2019s largest administrative and statistical exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The census will be carried out in two phases,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Houselisting and Housing Census<\/strong>: April to September 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Population Enumeration:<\/strong>\u00a0February 2027<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For snow-bound regions in Ladakh, Jammu &amp; Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, the Population Enumeration will be done earlier in September 2026.
