The Chief Minister has instructed the Darrang district administration and the Public Works Department to kick off the work without delay. The Koch people rose to prominence following the decline of the Pal dynasty in ancient Kamarupa. Founded by Biswa Singha, the kingdom reached its zenith under Maharaj Naranarayan.
