Mohana Singh becomes the first woman\nfighter pilot to fly by day on a Hawk advanced jet aircraft.<br>\nShe&nbsp;landed after a grueling&nbsp;<strong>4-aircraft combat sortie at Kalaikunda\nAir Force station<\/strong>&nbsp;in West Bengal.<br>\nThe other women officers &#8211; Bhawana Kanth and\nAvani Chaturvedi &#8211; joined the fighter stream in June 2016.<br>\nLast week, Flight Lt. Bhawana Kanth became the\nfirst daytime woman fighter pilot to fly a MiG-21 Bison.<br>\nShe involved flying both air-to-air combat and\nair-to-ground missions.<br>\nShe has undertaken many practice missions which\ninvolved firing of rockets, guns and dropping high caliber bombs and has also\nparticipated in various Air Force level flying exercises.<br>\nShe has a total of over 500 hours of\nincident-free flying of which 380 hours are on the Hawk Mk 132 jet.<br><br><strong>Mohana\nSingh<\/strong><br>\nMohana Singh Jitarwal is one of the first female\npilots of India.<br>\nShe was declared as the first combat pilot along\nwith two of her cohorts,&nbsp;<strong>Bhawana\nKanth, and Avani Chaturvedi.&nbsp;<\/strong><br>\nAll three women pilots were inducted into the\nIndian Air Force fighter squadron in June 2016.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flight Lt.
